greenflow
We are excited to announce the launch of greenflow, our education programme for students, parents/carers, and teachers in sexual and reproductive health and rights, environmentally sustainable self-care products, and entrepreneurship training.
The project began in July 2023 at Anjali House in Siem Reap, Cambodia, by a global team of five educators and 193 volunteer participants. The workshops were conducted by Sovanvotey Hok, a sexual health educator and the founder of Green Lady Cambodia, Dr Alissa Ambrose, a sexual health doctor, and Sotheavy At, an anti-plastic campaigner and the founder of Think Plastic. Local student Kimeng Chhay translated.
The project concluded with instruction in Collaborative Filmmaking, an embodied, participatory, and visual research method in which participants are trained to create, analyse, and screen films to answer a research question. In this case, students were asked, “What are your experiences with sexual and reproductive health?” Here is short documentary about the process:
A Monitoring and Evaluation report has also been completed. The forthcoming documentary will serve as M&E of the participatory filmmaking component of the project.
In partnership with with Green Shoots Foundation and UCL, we also created a prototype and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of a fully biodegradable, single-use menstrual pad. In July 2025, we will be partnering with MamaPower in Nairobi, Kenya to conduct pad-making workshops and entrepreneurship training for single mothers.
